The more we read about the current state of the solar industry across the planet, the more we unfortunately read about how many solar panel manufacturers and solar installation companies everywhere are lowering the bar in terms of quality. The good news is that this means in many ways that solar energy has arrived–it’s getting more popular, and therefore cheaper. But what we at Adair Solar Company in Mesa DON’T want to see happen is the quality of a solar installation suffer just so that local small and medium-sized businesses can save a buck or two here and there.
The whole premise of solar energy and a solar panel installation in Phoenix is to be greener, more responsible, and to take better care of planet earth while we treat ourselves to savings. However, the idea has never been to remove what’s good for the planet and just maintain what’s good for consumers. If we start to do things that way, then we will have missed the entire point of going solar in the first place.
Solar panels, Echo PV, any type of photovoltaic cells, and even solar water heaters in Phoenix should not ever be made using materials that unnecessarily harm the planet. The whole point of this exercise is to create sustainability–which oils, plastics, nonrenewable resources and materials that don’t lend themselves to being repurposed or recycled later just don’t have.
That’s what at Adair Solar Company in Phoenix, we pride ourselves on carrying industry leading equipment and the best technicians in the business to get the job done right–for your needs, and to meet the goals that true green had in mind in the first place.
Go solar, and do it right! Call Adair for a free in-home consultation for your solar system today. (480) 827-1162.

Last week was Earth Day, and it’s always nice to see how everyone gets together on this green occasion to support one another in all our earth conscious goals. But it sure seems like everything goes back to “normal” the very next day. It’s not practical to hold hands and hug trees all day everyday, we understand that–but would it be too much to ask for all of us to invest in our own greening up–just a little bit?
Arizonans don’t have many excuses when it comes to getting Earthy. With all kinds of solar rebates and solar tax credits, it’s more affordable than ever to consider rooftop solar panels in Phoenix for your home. In fact, with the cost now at a record low for our area, even long term renters have incentive to think about a solar panel installation in Phoenix. The overall investment is minute, especially when compared to what it cost in the 1990s and before.
If you’re real about getting green and staying there, then you know by now that the most authentic way to do it (with the highest returns) is to use local businesses and local resources. This alone reduces your carbon footprint. So by using a local solar company in Mesa or Phoenix, by adding up your thousands of dollars in savings with solar tax credits and rebates from both the state and federal governments, and then tacking on the monthly savings in utilities, the question moves from one about Earth friendliness to family and budget friendliness. In short, unless you don’t like the planet or saving money, installing solar panels in Phoenix is probably a good choice for you!
So make everyday Earth Day if you live in Arizona and happen to be blessed by so much sun. It’s good for everyone and everything involved. What do you have to lose? We recently blogged that the majority of Americans have massively overestimated the cost of solar panels because they’ve been misinformed. If you don’t know, ask us! Adair Solar Company in Mesa is here to help you with all your solar needs! For a free in-home consultation, dial (480) 827-1162.

It might sound like the set up for a stand up routine, but the title of this blog is a list of some of the top money earners in our economy right now. You may not want to use all three items at the same time (especially if you’re into Bikram yoga!) but yes indeedy–yoga, hot sauce, and solar panels are rockin’ their way at the top of the black in this super salty down economy. Why is that? According to studies lead by IBIS World, American consumers have turned over a new leaf because of the economy itself, and because of gas prices and that’s followed by a renewed interest in other cultures and increased awareness of self-image. So people are working out more, but they want to do it in a manner that lowers stress, and this newfound love affair with Eastern philosophy is opening the gateway to try more foreign foods and get green!
We at Adair Solar Company in Mesa certainly won’t complain–we think this is all great news! Not just because solar panels are imminently more affordable in Arizona due to solar tax rebates, but also because we sure do have plenty of yoga studios here in the Valley too. But on a serious note, it’s nice to hear that people want to take better care of themselves–and that in so doing, they are also branching out into uncharted territories. Trying new food is one of the first signs of acceptance of other cultures according to many sociologists.
So here’s the ideal scenario: A yoga studio powered by solar panels in Phoenix complete with a salsa bar! Too far? Let us know your thoughts and what kind of salsa is your favorite!

While we at Adair Solar Company in Phoenix support all the advancements in solar energy and all that the hard working people in this industry do to keep the technology fresh, innovative, and cheap, we don’t agree that it should be done at the cost of local homeowners.
When we read about “cool new solar programs” that are still very much in their beta phases and haven’t had all the kinks worked out, we know that this means a harder time for consumers. We also know that there is a huge bounty of amazing rooftop solar panels, solar water heaters, radiant barrier insulation, and Echo PV installation options that are already here and very ready to start saving you money today.
Make sure you ask the important questions to your solar installer. How long have they been in busness? Do their products come with service guarantees and warranties? Are the products time-tested and approved by consumers or are they “too new to know yet”? When you work with Adair Solar, you are working with 35 years of experience on the solar industry and a team of professionals who care about you and your solar installation in Phoenix!
So while we do want you to have the latest and greatest in solar technology, we also want you to get the most out of what is available to you. For years scientists and other solar energy experts have been trying to figure out a way to make solar panels work in the same way that plants work using photosynthesis. Until recently, it has pretty much seemed like a pipe dream. But Andreas Mershin of MIT
has turned the idea that it can’t be done on its head by… doing it!
Essentially, it’s possible to take grass clippings and other organic materials and marry them to a chemical mixture to create solar panels that make use of the photosynthetic properties that living plants have in nature. In this way, solar panels that are made using this technology will be able to harness the power of the sun in a whole new way that will in most instances be even more efficient than what science offers us now for rooftop solar panels in Phoenix and beyond.
Some opponents of this idea believe that while the technology is good and will probably work, most government entities won’t get behind it because of how “new fangled” the theory seems. But we feel differently. While it may not be how we bring solar energy to homes next week or even next year, it’s evidence that great thinkers are in the world of, and on the side of solar energy. Even if this technology doesn’t come into play for another decade, the fact that it ever will can make solar energy that much more sustainable, and literally, that much greener.
By showing us how this can be done, Mershin has created a whole new world of opportunity for those who live in regions where buying or using conventional solar panels just isn’t an option due to cost and availability. By painting a mixture of grass clippings and a natural chemical agent onto slats on their roofs, people residing in third world countries will one day be able to enjoy the cost-saving benefits of solar energy the way we do here in the United States. We’re all for it!

The ASU campus offshoot here in Mesa, AZ known as ASU Polytechnic will be adding to its already revered name with a solar panel project in support with SRP (Salt River Project, a local utility company, for those of you not in the area.)
According to MarketWatch, “The ASU solar plant will be the third commercial-scale solar facility in the Valley of the Sun to provide energy for SRP. Recently, SRP reached an agreement to purchase the output of a 19-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant in Queen Creek. Copper Crossing – a 20-megawatt facility located in Pinal County and designed and built by SunPower – began providing energy for SRP’s Community Solar program last year. More than 100 schools in 11 Valley school districts are tapping into the power of the sun from that plant to offset a portion of their electric needs through the program. Community Solar is also open to residential customers, allowing customers to invest in solar energy without the upfront costs or maintenance of a rooftop system.
The SRP board of directors has set a goal to meet 20 percent of SRP’s retail electricity requirements through sustainable resources by the year 2020. The goal increases each year until 2020. For the most recent fiscal year, SRP exceeded the 5 percent goal, providing about 9 percent of retail energy needs with sustainable resources including wind, solar and geothermal energy, hydro power and conservation and energy-efficiency measures.”
As a local solar company, Adair Solar Company in Mesa supports this effort, and as we always say, it’s this kind of larger scale commercial and government investment in solar energy in Arizona that sparks consumer interest and makes homeowners open their eyes about the possibilities for solar in their own homes. No amount of advertising is worth what this kind of large-scale activity in the solar world is worth. It’s “world of mouth” that makes the difference here, and we urge all Phoenix homeowners to take their cue from this kind of news. The monthly savings for homeowners who have solar panels in Phoenix is simply remarkable.
We invite you to join us and find out about your Phoenix solar tax credits and rebates today! Call us today for a FREE in-home consultation at (480) 827-1162.

Patrick Dempsey Speaks Out About the Power of Solar Energy
Filed under photovoltaic solar panels, solar energy, solar energy news, Solar Install, UncategorizedJan 3According to Michael dEstries of ecorazzi.com (good gossip–we love it!) Patrick Dempsey is a star on the rise in the world of solar energy. Destries had this to say about Dempsey’s solar energy efforts:
“Back in June, Patrick Dempsey announced that global solar panel manufacturer Trina Solar would not only become a sponsor of his Dempsey Racing team – but also work with him to launch a new clean energy charity.”
Dempsey himself was quoted as saying, “I’m [sic] motivated by a personal interest in solar power as an energy solution.”
You can view the short film starring “McDreamy” here–and we think what he and Trina Solar are doing is especially dreamy!
Dempsey discusses the fact that so many people (billions with a ‘b’) are living in a world where the sun shines every day, but where electricity is scarce if it exists at all. He makes a great point–why should it be so easy for some of us to be able to take something as vital as electricity for granted when so many on this Earth don’t have access to it at all? Take a moment and imagine your life without electricity at all…
Now, thankfully, the “trend” of solar energy is coming on fast and furious. And here in Arizona things are no different. We live in a community whereby using solar energy we could save enough money on energy overall that the residuals could be used toward all kinds of good–be it housing those in need, educating young people, or providing health care to the needy.
We love this message from Patrick Dempsey and we love that more and more celebrities are getting behind solar solutions like his projects with Trina.
We hope you feel the same and that you will give–and that you will entertain seriously making 2012 the year you install rooftop solar panels on your home in Phoenix and beyond.
This is our planet–it’s time to commit to its future!

According to a recent MarketWatch article, US Foods has activated a “905 kilowatt, 3,934 photovoltaic solar panel system at its Phoenix division. The solar array is the company’s third installation, including a panel in San Francisco and La Mirada, and one of the largest rooftop installations in Phoenix. It is expected to provide 15 percent of the division’s power needs annually. At its peak, the solar panel array will generate more than 1.5 million kilowatt hours annually, enough energy to power approximately 140 homes.”
That’s the kind of solar energy growth we in in Phoenix can be proud of, and need to be doing more of as well. As a local Arizona solar company, Adair Solar is proud to provide installations for local homeowners and other residents all across the Valley Metro Area. It’s important that we see all kinds of businesses in all sectors doing the same–it helps consumers keep the faith that solar energy is a viable option for them too.
And this isn’t just good news for Arizona’s burgeoning solar industry, it’s also great news for the foods we produce here. MarketWatch goes on to tell us, “With nearly 600 employees, the Phoenix Division supplies the highest quality food and related products to more than 4,000 customers throughout Arizona.” It is here that we begin to understand the outreaching effect and synergy that Arizona solar power has. With statistics like these, we start to understand that solar energy has a positive compound effect across multiple industries while also lowering the cost of living, the cost of buying, and the cost to do business in Arizona as well.
Solar energy provides the kind of win-win scenario that other more conventional energy sources can only dream of. If it makes foods cheaper and better for us, lowers our utilities bills, increases the value of our homes when we add solar installations to houses in Phoenix, and makes our world a progressively safer place to live in, why should we not worship the sun? Cleaner air is definitely something Phoenix can stand more of, so we at Adair Solar Company in Mesa are happy to be part of the family of local solar companies that offers homeowners alternatives in energy. And with Arizona state solar tax credits and federal tax rebates, the choice becomes an easy one for homeowners.
What are you waiting for? Call us for a FREE in-home consultation for rooftop solar panels and a solar water heater for your Phoenix home today!

People said the same thing about blue jeans that they’re now saying about solar energy. They won’t last. They can’t stay in style forever. It’s just a trend. Only certain people will wear them. Well, more than 200 years after being invented, blue jeans are still here, and frankly, going stronger than ever (jeggings, anyone?)
It’s the same with solar energy and the panels that bring us the energy from the sun. Both the energy and the equipment are subject to great debate these days, and people are saying a lot of the same things. It’s a trend, a fad, only certain people will use them. Perhaps it is this very kind of thinking that winds up making good things better. Why? Because over the course of the last year, more new solar delivery systems (panels, water heaters, farms, arrays, and more) have experienced unequaled progress from any other time in the history of solar technology.
So, while you’re out there hearing about the partisanship, the pundits, the pros, the cons, the lobbyists, and the opponents of solar energy talk, remember: the sun’s not going anywhere, and the best incentive aside from it being a renewable source of energy is that it doesn’t pose incredible dangers like nuclear energy does. If you have your doubts about this fact, catch up with Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan and ask him how he feels about solar energy–He did a nearly instant about-face on nuclear energy policy and declared solar energy the essential answer to Japan’s energy needs in the aftermath of the horrific earthquake that rocked the island nation to it’s nuclear core.
Solar energy in Arizona is a no-brainer. It supports local businesses, makes use of local resources (that just happen to be splendidly renewable and endless), and it lowers the cost of living for its residents. What more can you ask of an energy source?
When you’re ready to find out about your options for solar panels in Phoenix or get an estimate on a solar water heater installation in Mesa or anywhere else in the valley, give us a call. Adair Solar Company in Mesa has been in the solar energy industry for 35 years–so we know what’s best for your home AND your wallet. Give us a call today for a free, in-home consultation: (480) 827-1162.
