A recent press release from BusinessWire has cracked the case on why so many Americans are unusually–and unnecessarily–scared of solar panels and the idea of installing anything solar on their homes. According to BusinessWire, it seems that Americans are grossly overestimating the cost of rooftop solar panels, and all kinds of other solar equipment. We’re not really sure why this is happening, but it’s probably safe to say that there are a couple of factors at work. But take a look at this statistic:
“While only 3% accurately understand that installing solar can cost less than $1,000 upfront, 4 out of 10 U.S. Adults (40%) think it requires $20,000 or more in upfront costs, grossly overestimating the true cost of installing home solar.”
WHOA! What the heck is going on out there! Here’s the real deal: Solar installations on most homes are very reasonably priced due to the falling cost of solar panels in general, across the entire industry. And to boot, solar tax credits and rebates on both the federal and state levels dramatically reduce the out of pocket cost to everyday consumers and homeowners, dropping the cost to a mere fraction of what it might have been without such government initiatives.
If you are among the three percent of people who understand the true, low cost of solar installations in Phoenix, please enlighten your friends and family. If you are still uncertain about how the cost “really is this low,” please give Adair Solar Company in Mesa a call today so one of our highly experienced solar representatives can come to your home free of charge and explain exactly how much you’d be spending for rooftop solar panels in Phoenix.
There’s nothing in this world like really understanding something from the inside out. Our fear is that so many Americans think they do understand the real cost of solar, when in fact the actual cost is light years lower than what they think most of the time.

Every year in the months before we get our tax returns back, we all daydream of what we will do with the extra money. New furniture? A family vacation? How about a new TV? Instead of the typical daydreams, this year we invite you to invest a small sum of money into adding rooftop solar panels to your Phoenix area home. It won’t cost much, and there are federal and state tax credits and solar rebates that will make it even more inexpensive for you.
Depending on your income and your home, you can qualify for a given amount of tax credit for solar energy–that means that next year when it comes time to file your taxes again, you will have another little something to add to the deductions pile that will help increase the amount of money you get back from either the state or on the federal level, or both!
Federal and state solar tax credits and solar rebates are also good for solar water heaters in Phoenix and the surrounding area, and can also help with the cost of Echo PV installations as well as other solar-based installations and equipment.
If you want the total package on your home in Phoenix (in other words, the rooftop solar panels in addition to the solar water heater, as well as a/c maintenance and radiant barrier insulation) you will get even more money back and may even qualify for more subsidies from the government that can help make your solar installation in Phoenix that much more affordable.
Have questions about how it all works? Get yourself a free in-home consultation with an Adair Solar Company technician who can give you all the details and explain to you in the comfort of your home exactly which rebates and tax credits you are eligible for. Simple dial (480) 827-1162 today for details or to make an appointment!

According to CNN Money, Americans have not wasted anytime getting solar installations on their homes and businesses–especially when the cost of doing so fell in their geo-specific region.
James O’Toole of CNN notes, “Installations of solar energy systems in the U.S. more than doubled in 2011, according to a new report, fueled in part by declining solar panel costs. The U.S. added a record 1,855 megawatts of photovoltaic capacity in 2011, a 109% increase versus the year prior, said GTM Research and the the Solar Energy Industries Association, a national trade group. The report projects that new installations will increase further to more than 2,800 megawatts in 2012. Average photovoltaic system prices fell 20% last year, with a glut of solar panels hitting world markets.”
This is just what we were expecting to hear about looking back on solar energy in 2011 and the first quarter of 2012, nonetheless, it is a wonderful thing to see actually come true!
This means that here in Arizona, solar tax credits and rebates, along with the lowering industry-wide cost of solar panels and installing solar panels in Phoenix, more and more residents of this area are getting rooftop solar panels and other types of solar installations.
When you look at the unbelievable savings you get on utilities bills when you install rooftop solar panels in Phoenix, and with the lowered upfront and overall cost in solar equipment to consumers now, there’s no reason not to consider solar as the way to go, especially in a place like Phoenix!
If you’re ready to become the proud owner of solar panels or a solar water heater in Phoenix, give Adair Solar Company in Mesa a call today to get started with a free in-home consultation. Just dial (480) 827-1162

Clear Solar Panels in Phoenix?
Filed under photovoltaic solar panels, solar energy, solar energy news, Solar Install, UncategorizedFeb 25According to Calfinder, transparent, or at least translucent solar panels are on their way. “One day, windows are likely to provide the electricity for homes and businesses. Invisible solar technology took another step towards reality this week when New Energy Technologies announced that collaboration with scientists at the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) resulted in a 70-square-inch see-through glass solar module.
The solar window is over 14 times larger than other see-through modules made at the NREL, and the largest in the world so far.Under the guidance of New Energy principle scientist Dr. Scott Hammond, NREL scientists applied electricity-generating coatings to glass. Made of conductive polymers, the coatings are produced through an organic synthesis process. The end result is revolutionary BIPV, or building-integrated photovoltaics.
Last month, New Energy announced that they were using a high-speed, high-volume solution coating process, another important development on the road towards a viable commercial organic photovoltaic (OPV) product.
New Energy confirmed that this latest solution-coating technique is compatible with roll-to-roll fabrication methods that are commonly used for printing, which means that OPVs have the potential to be manufactured on a large scale. New Energy foresees that the process will eventually mean that solar windows will be produced faster, cheaper and safer than conventional photovoltaic panels.”
This may not mean that you will be able to have clear solar panels next week, or even next year, but perhaps the advent of clear solar panels will be the allure that some people need to get used to the idea of having solar panels on their own home.
Rooftop solar panels in Phoenix are one sure way to save energy and money, that’s for sure. If you want to learn more about solar panels, call us today at (480) 827-1162. You’ll be glad you did!

Many of you have asked us questions about our new product offering, Echo PV in Phoenix. To learn more about how an Echo PV installation works, and what it makes use of in order to work, click here for our previous blog about Echo PV.
But in this blog, we’re going to address some of your other questions. Many of you had asked us if Echo PV could only be installed on new construction homes. While it is certainly possible to install an Echo PV during new construction, that’s absolutely not the ONLY time it can be installed on your home.
Echo PV can be installed on homes of all makes and models, from cottage style to larger McCormick Ranch style homes and more. One thing you do need to know ahead of time is that an Echo PV install is an undertaking, and is a more intensive installation process than a simple rooftop solar panel install or solar water heater installation in Phoenix.
Not every single home is a candidate for Echo PV, but we won’t be able to determine that until one of our solar technicians comes out to your home to inspect your roof and other areas of your home structure for integrity, and so on. The Echo PV installation process does require that we remove your roof, so if this is something you’ve wanted to replace anyway for better efficiency, now would be the time to get that handled too!
Call Adair Solar Company in Mesa with your questions about Echo PV or to set up your consultation. Simply dial (480) 827-1162. You’ll be glad you did!

In the past year, we’ve noticed that stories about solar energy by way of solar farms and solar arrays are on the rise big time. So why is that? Here in Arizona, we’ve received more than a billion dollars in revenue from the Department of Energy to start making solar power more feasible for everyone from students to homeowners, and business owners to those who are just plainly tapped into the grid–renters and apartment dwellers alike.
So is this some sort of solar fad? We don’t think so. As you scan the reports and news stories about solar energy, you come to find more and more stories about its widespread use, not less and less as some opponents might have you believe. Everywhere from China and Japan to former Eastern Block Europe are creating solar farms, and they are now the norm in countries like Denmark and Sweden.
The US isn’t far behind in implementation, it’s juts some of the thinking that needs to catch up. The Garden State of New Jersey still leads the pack as the most solar energy-using state, but many others are closely tailing it, including New York, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and you guessed it, Arizona!
The best way to make good use of energy in the desert is to take advantage of the natural resource we have in the sun. What could be more effective than harnessing such power where the sun shines more than 330 days out of the year?
If you’re ready to harness the sun with rooftop solar panels in Phoenix, then we are here to help you make that happen. Adair Solar Company in Mesa has been providing solar panels and solar water heaters in Phoenix for more than three decades.
In addition, Adair offers Arizona solar tax credits and solar rebates as a certified solar equipment installer. So what are you waiting for? Let us come give you a free in-home consultation to determine what solar credits you are eligible for and get your solar installation in Phoenix started today!

While we obviously completely understand why Gabrielle Giffords would step down from her post in Congress, we are so saddened to hear the news. Representative Giffords has been the most important spokesperson for solar energy use in Arizona for years. She has been the steadfast supporter of the solar industry in Arizona who was really able to move the mail, even with heavy opposition in her wake. According to the Phoenix Business Journal article written by Patrick O’Grady,
“Arizona’s representation doesn’t have another solar champion in Congress. In fact, the industry has run into some opposition of solar development from within those ranks. Sen. Jon Kyl has repeatedly questioned solar on the grounds that concentrated plants use too much water in the arid desert.
Industry insiders say Arizona is succeeding despite the lack of support from many elected officials, but losing Giffords could be a blow the nascent industry can ill afford to have. It also might make the races for House next year a little more interesting depending on who steps in to fill the seat.”
Arizona needs a mover and a shaker who can help eradicate the abysmal ignorance about solar energy and how it works–not just literally, but how it works for our local economy, savings to working families who need it, and how rooftop solar panels on Arizona homes can dramatically reduce our carbon footprint as a state and indeed improve the standard of living in the Valley of the Sun.
If you are a proponent for the use of solar energy in Arizona, please, contact our existing congresspersons and let them know how you feel. It’s so important that politicians understand that their constituencies here in Arizona DO support solar initiatives. If they didn’t then thousands of them per year would not be installing solar water heaters in Phoenix and solar panels on their homes all across the state.
The time to act is now–think of Gabby Giffords and her valiant fight for solar energy in Arizona. She would not want us giving up or giving in now!
