The name Google is synonymous with excellence and persistence. Just look what they’re doing with Google+ these days after hitting the wall with Buzz and other “Facebooky” apps. Google isn’t just a brand–it’s become a verb (you know, just Google it.) Well, we think it’s time Google become an adjective too. As in, when something is worth supporting, being a part of, acting communally in and with, it ought to be called “Googley.” In with that said, solar energy is certainly Googley!Several months ago Google announced that it would be investing in the world of solar energy and other emerging renewable energy sources and industries. Well, they have put their money were their big Googley mouth is, and they’ve done it in classic, genius fashion. Here’s how it’s being done, according to a CNN Money Tech article by Steve Hargreaves:
“Google announced another investment in companies selling rooftop solar panels Tuesday, putting $75 million into a fund that solar contractors and designers can draw on to finance solar systems for homeowners.
“Contractors get cheap financing from the fund and pay a commission from each sale.
“Administered by Clean Power Finance, the fund allows installers and designers of solar power systems to offer their customers rooftop solar panels for little or no money down.
“Then, instead of paying an electric bill to the power company, homeowners send a monthly payment to Clean Power Finance who passes the check along to Google.”
So in essence, solar providers like Adair Solar Company in Mesa would be given the opportunity to serve our Arizona homeowners with whatever the newest and best technology would be at the time, pass the best of the most modern solar installations onto you, and stay in business while also helping the macro economy. The homeowner wins, small business wins, big business wins, and the fed is happy with its share of the taxation, which is minimal (it doesn’t need to be much when millions of people are involved in the program!)
We love this idea and can’t wait for it to hit the mainstream. If you’re ready for your cheap solar panel installation in Phoenix, call Adair Solar Company in Mesa today at (480) 827-1162. The price is right and the quality in product in service is second to none after 35 years of rooftop solar installations in Phoenix!

There are so many misconceptions about solar energy and how rooftop solar panels in Phoenix and beyond work. Rarely does weather interfere with how well a solar installation works. Unless you live on Pluto, the reach of the sun is relatively vast enough to offer you the level of energy it takes to heat your water, and offer you additional energy.
We have heard all kinds of old wives tales about how solar energy doesn’t work if it’s cold, if there’s snow, if it’s raining, if there’s fog, and so on. While many of these weather scenarios don’t occur where we operate, Adair Solar Company in Mesa is still here to tell you… those photovoltaic rooftop solar panels you have will work under almost any conditions!
In the rarest of Arizona scenarios, like a SEVERE dust storm (haboob!) you might want to hop up on the rooftop and make sure your panels aren’t covered in dust. But beyond that, it’s all good. Cold air will not have an effect on your solar panels… unless by cold air you mean beyond subzero, which, unless we’re way off, isn’t all that likely to happen in Arizona
So if you’re currently weighing your options and trying to decide if solar panels and/or a solar water heater in Phoenix is the right choice for your home, you can take a deep breath and stop weighing now, because it is.
Call Adair Solar Company in Mesa today to schedule your FREE in-home solar installation consultation. We’re here to answer your questions anytime!

There’s clearly nothing new about the sun. As a species we’ve feared it, killed for it, worshiped it, danced for it, and in our modern age, come to understand how to harness it. There’s nothing new about the sun, but every day there are new developments in the solar energy industry. In the days before states became states in the US, the sun shone across the land that we now call the Southwest–to wit, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and Southern California. But the sun didn’t decide to shine more in these places because it was convenient, or because it was getting kickbacks, or because organizations lobbied for it to do so. It did so because that’s what it does, and so it goes, as Kurt Vonnegut would say.
So taking advantage of the sun in this area is like taking advantage of a buffet if you have a hollow leg–you should get in line right now! But unlike a buffet, the sun never closes shop, and the sun will never walk up to your table and tell you that you’ve had enough
Beyond the politics and the numerous questions about where ALL of renewable energy is headed, if you live in Arizona, Southern California, Nevada, New Mexico, or Texas, you should be asking questions about how you can make solar energy for your home a reality.
Adair Solar Company in Mesa is an installer of solar water heaters and solar panels in Phoenix and the entire metro area. So do yourself a favor and call us today at (480) 827-1162 and find out which solar tax credits and solar rebates you qualify for so you can get your solar installation in Phoenix as soon as possible.
We promise… the sun won’t burn out anytime soon!

Right now is one of the most tenuous times in the history of the solar industry. Rather than being judged on its merits, or by what most solar installation companies provide, the industry is being seen by many in a negative light because of the issues perpetuated by partisanship regarding a handful of large companies. The accusations against such entities in no way represent everyday mom and pop solar installers like Adair Solar Installer in Mesa, AZ and other small operations that dot the globe.Unfortunately, nearly everything in life can be politicized. Not to suggest that the solar industry should not have to obey the same kinds of laws and regulations in place for other energy industries, but it should also enjoy the same advantages. That said, advantages toward solar enterprise seem to have been singled out–opponents suggest that unfair “props” have been given to solar provider Solyndra. But over what? According to a recent article by Eric Rosenbaum, Solyndra played by the rules in Washington. Rosenbaum writes, “Unless you’re ready to indict the entire Washington D.C. lobbying culture, the fact that Solyndra increased its lobbying budget to more than $1 million in a few short years tells you nothing other than that this is the way the game is played in Washington, by everyone, in every sector, and on both sides of the partisan rancor.”
Why should solar companies and those with “solar energy agendas” not have the same rights to lobby as say, oil companies, orĀ big pharma, or… anyone else? The best guess this writer can come up with is that solar energy in and of itself represents too much change when coupled with lobbying efforts. If someone was lobbying successfully to grow produce on Mars, the outrage would be similar. But wrongfully so. And here’s why: We as American consumers and constituents have got to stop seeing solar energy as a space-aged “tomorrow” kind of idea. It’s happening today, and as far as we at Adair Solar Company in Mesa can tell you, it’s been happening for nearly four decades that we’ve been a part of!
American consumers deserve solar tax rebates and solar tax credits so they can become part of the solution AND experience the immense savings associated with owning a home powered at least in part by the sun. Removing the power to give these kinds of allowances to everyday Americans doesn’t hurt big businesses that won’t feel the punch–it will hurt the American home owners who want to save money, increase the value of their homes, make the right choice for their children’s generation, and plant seeds of hope in the U.S. economy. Taking that away because of one disagreement–regardless of how large it may seem in the eyes of some–is wrong. And it doesn’t mesh with how American free enterprise has worked for more than a century.
So, if you’ve gone solar, good for you–now help the next homeowner get a leg up by explaining not just how it’s good for their home and their bills, but why it’s good for the American Dream.

When California comes to mind, a forward-thinking nature is part of what we’ve all come to expect. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that a California school district would be in the midst of a large scale solar installation. That said, the school district that’s doing it is in Porterville, CA–an area known for its agricultural background and rural attitude.
This is not exactly a Manhattan rooftop co-op, but it will have results that echo on the central California landscape for decades to come. According to the ABC affiliate in the Porterville area, “The green energy system will not only help the school district cut its annual $2.2-million electricity bill in half, but it will also serve as shade in the school’s parking lots and an educational tool.”
What’s not to love? It saves greenbacks, creates a greener environment in a heavily farmed area, and allows local students to understand and appreciate alternative and renewable energy sources–God willing, the very source of energy that will one day make possible for more crops to be grown more cheaply.
We’d love to see an Arizona school district do the same thing–oh wait, we have! Just a reminder, good for you, schools of Gila, AZ. you are the example we hope other Arizona districts will follow! Going solar isn’t just something that residents and homeowners should do. As a matter of fact, statistics show us that when government entities and corporations get solar installations in Phoenix, residents of the same area are inspired to go solar too.
So, if you are a resident of Porterville, CA, congrats… and go get solar panels for your house too! If you’re here in Arizona, don’t move to Gila
Get your solar installation in Phoenix! You can have a solar water heater installed on your home for next to nothing when you call Adair Solar Company in Mesa. We love to help Arizonans go solar, and we’ve got 35 years of experience to prove it! -

When most people think of the Fox Network, the color that comes to mind is red. Or red, white, and blue. But for this year’s 63rd Emmys, the Fox Network is pulling out all the stops–and even pulling out a red carpet made from recycled materials! We’ve said it before, but it deserves constant mention: When large entities, celebrities, corporations and the like to the right thing, consumers and the public at large are likely to follow suit. This is inspiration beyond Valentino and Oscar De La Renta, baby!According to Talk TV World, “Solar panels will provide power to the Primetime Emmys red carpet and, for the first time ever, FOX will donate the solar panels and the red carpet to local charities after the event. In addition, the 390-foot red carpet is the largest ever to be lit entirely by low-energy LED and fluorescent lighting.”
Naturally (all puns intended), we love to hear about the solar panels, though we will be interested in hearing what happens to them/where they go after the Emmys. So if anyone knows, please give us a holler. Guessing here, but don’t you think the recycled red carpet would be worth something after all those celebs had traipsed across it in their finest ensembles? We think it would be especially cool if chunks of that carpet could be sold for charity, say something for the Sierra Club or our friends over at Clean Water Action.
So here’s food for though Arizonans: What do you think about challenging local event holders to mimic the good green deeds of the 63rd Emmys? That next PGA Tour, outdoor concert, or hosting of a political figure could be solar powered and geared up with repurposed goods, don’t you think? And of course, Adair Solar Company in Mesa would do the solar installation, right? Right!
Good job, Fox Newtwork. Keep greenin’ up!

United States Solar :: Like a Boss!

Well, well, well. These colors don’t run baby. They also don’t waste time catching up to–and overtaking–the competition. According to a recent release by ABI Research, the good ol’ USA will be the number one market for photovoltaics and solar installations in the whole wide world! Now, to some this may sound like, oh yeah, well, that’s how it should be–and you’d be right. BUT, it hasn’t been quite that simple.A lot of policy working against consumers and little solar companies like Adair Solar Company in Mesa. In addition, with rebates and solar tax credits across other states in the union being rather wishy-washy and not quite what they could be or should be, solar power hasn’t been a viable option for as many Americans as it could be. But things are changing, and they’re changing fast. Americans’ voices are being heard and policy makers and solar installers are piping up on behalf of a solar future too.
“The US PV market is set to witness explosive growth over the next few years, with a forecast of 5 GW installed during 2013,” ABI tells us. In case you can’t quite understand what that means in terms of volume, here’s another way of looking at it: The United States will be creating, using, storing, and sending back more energy into the system via photovoltaics than Japan, Italy, or even Germany, all of which have until now been seen as some of the most important solar innovators.
We’re always proud to be American, but after serving the valley for 35 years with solar installations in Phoenix and throughout the rest of the metro area, we’re a little prouder today than usual. Go solar today and become part of the movement that’s making it possible for our children to one day have a planet to give their children.

Florence, Arizona has just become home to the state’s largest solar panel array! The proud parents of the array are the Salt River Project and its “EarthWise” community solar program, both based right here in the Valley of the Sun.
The gorgeous new solar panel farm consists of enough photovoltaics to power up and sustain nearly four thousand valley homes, but for now the plans (certainly not smaller plans!) are to power more than one hundred schools across more than ten school districts. Certainly no small feat!
The SRP solar array has been titled “Copper Crossing Solar Ranch,” and is home to 144 acres of butt-kickin’ photovoltaic solar panels that create upwards of twenty megawatts of straight up solar energy!
These are the stories we love to hear about solar energy in Phoenix and beyond. It truly warms our hearts after being in the industry for 35 years right here in Mesa, AZ when we hear true success stories about solar panels being utilized in such a widespread manner. We look forward to the day that solar energy is the mainstay and not the alternative… anywhere!

People said the same thing about blue jeans that they’re now saying about solar energy. They won’t last. They can’t stay in style forever. It’s just a trend. Only certain people will wear them. Well, more than 200 years after being invented, blue jeans are still here, and frankly, going stronger than ever (jeggings, anyone?)
It’s the same with solar energy and the panels that bring us the energy from the sun. Both the energy and the equipment are subject to great debate these days, and people are saying a lot of the same things. It’s a trend, a fad, only certain people will use them. Perhaps it is this very kind of thinking that winds up making good things better. Why? Because over the course of the last year, more new solar delivery systems (panels, water heaters, farms, arrays, and more) have experienced unequaled progress from any other time in the history of solar technology.
So, while you’re out there hearing about the partisanship, the pundits, the pros, the cons, the lobbyists, and the opponents of solar energy talk, remember: the sun’s not going anywhere, and the best incentive aside from it being a renewable source of energy is that it doesn’t pose incredible dangers like nuclear energy does. If you have your doubts about this fact, catch up with Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan and ask him how he feels about solar energy–He did a nearly instant about-face on nuclear energy policy and declared solar energy the essential answer to Japan’s energy needs in the aftermath of the horrific earthquake that rocked the island nation to it’s nuclear core.
Solar energy in Arizona is a no-brainer. It supports local businesses, makes use of local resources (that just happen to be splendidly renewable and endless), and it lowers the cost of living for its residents. What more can you ask of an energy source?
When you’re ready to find out about your options for solar panels in Phoenix or get an estimate on a solar water heater installation in Mesa or anywhere else in the valley, give us a call. Adair Solar Company in Mesa has been in the solar energy industry for 35 years–so we know what’s best for your home AND your wallet.
