Solar Energy in 2011: Rhone Resch Speaks Up
Filed under global solar energy, solar energy newsMar 29Rhone Resch of the Solar Energy Industries Association noted last week that this was the year that solar energy would go big. In the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, many of begin to understand the importance of green energy like solar power, just as Resch noted. While the environmental and sustainable energy advantages may be quite obvious to many, there is a huge additional bonus to solar energy in Phoenix: saving money, creating local green jobs, and keeping money in the Arizona economy.
To put a finer point on it, Arizona is a lucky state. We have the ability to harness the sun and make ourselves incredibly sustainable because of that. In addition to being a more conscious consumer, those who opt in to solar panel installations in Phoenix and the surrounding area make it possible for solar energy to continue being offered — when you support jobs in the “green sector” you help to literally sustain sustainability.
When we hear of gas prices rising, utilities costs out of control, and job loss in the United States, turning to renewable energy just makes plain everyday common sense. We keep Japan in our thoughts, but beyond that, we are proud that their solar energy industry and its tenacity will renew itself and continue to make Japan a more energy efficient place to be. From here to there, one thing is certain: the sun always rises!
