    solar panels in Phoenix

    Representative Gabby Giffords

Even in the absence of the injured state representative, the office of Gabby Giffords hosted an event for home owners and small business owners. The event, called  Solar Power 101, focused on how consumers of energy can make the switch to solar energy in Arizona.

According to the Arizona Real EstateRama website, “Solar Power 101 is especially useful for homeowners who are considering installation of a solar power system. Local solar business owners will discuss the basics of photovoltaic and solar hot water and a representative of Tucson Electric Power Co. will talk about energy efficiency.”

Solar Power 101 is not a new concept — in fact, this being the 45th assembly of the event, it is now an Arizona institution — all because of the hard work of Representative Giffords, who was named as the recipient of the 2010 Advocate of Optics recipient by the highly esteemed Optical Society of America.

But beyond efforts like Solar 101, there are simply not enough efforts to bring awareness to solar energy companies in Phoenix and what solar energy can do for consumers, businesses, and the environment.

The Solar 101 event helped business and homeowners attain knowledge on how they can utilize solar energy to power their homes and commercial spaces to better the environment and lower their cost of energy consumption — hence lowering their cost of living, and the cost of operating a small business in Arizona.

Adair Solar Company in Mesa salutes Representative Gabby Giffords in her strong support of solar energy in Arizona. Generally we think of solar companies in Phoenix and surrounding areas we think of solar panel installations in Scottsdale on residential properties or perhaps small business buildings and the like. But something new has been happening across the country over the past couple of years that proves Americans in many industries — not just consumers — are interested in changing the ways in which they power their operations.

    Solar company in Mesa

Of the industries using solar energy and other renewable energy sources at impressively growing rates are farms and other agricultural endeavors. According to the USDA, “The number of solar panels, wind turbines and methane digesters on America’s farms and ranches has increased significantly over the past decade and there are now 8,569 operations producing their own renewable energy, according to the results of the 2009 On-Farm Renewable Energy Production Survey released today [February 23, 2011.]”

So what does this say about farming and the relationship between it and solar energy in the U.S.? It tells us that an industry that for the past 40 years has used highly polluting factory farming techniques are turning over a new leaf that will make farming — and indeed the production of vegetables, fruits, and meats far more efficient, sustainable, and less damaging to the planet at large.

Farms leading the way in solar energy use proves that nearly any entity in nearly any industry can make use of renewable energy sources that will help to preserve our planet and make our global carbon footprint that much smaller.

Adair Phoenix Solar Energy Company stands behind those in the agricultural industry and we hope that the trend of solar power in Mesa and the rest of Arizona will be part of this new trend… which we forecast will not be a fad!

El Chorro LodgeWhen you think about the types of establishments that are consistently and rapidly going green and using solar energy in Arizona, you think of sectors like automotives, homebuilding, engineering, and perhaps aircrafts. One thing you don’t typically think of are restaurants, and certainly not one-off restaurants that aren’t part of a chain like Phoenix, Arizona institution, El Chorro Lodge.

The 75-year-old Mexican restaurant’s owner, Jacquie Dorrance has become the first Valley of the Sun restaurateur to be awarded the Green Building Council’s Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design (LEED) Gold Certification.

So what makes the newly modified El Chorro Lodge green and ecofriendly? A solar heater installation in the Phoenix restaurant, for starters.

In addition, there’s something we at least had never even heard of — powerfully efficient insulation made from recycled denim blue jeans! To boot, the renovation of El Chorro Lodge was done making use of every last shred of the original structure as possible. Recycled, reused, or otherwise put to use, a great deal of the old establishment never got hauled off to the dump.

Adair Solar Company in Mesa, AZ is proud of Jacquie Dorrance and we look forward to more and more Arizona companies from all industries engaging the way El Chorro has. You can visit El Chorro at 5550 E. Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley, AZ.

Perhaps one of the best incentives for using renewable energy in the business world is seeing the little guys, the underdogs, and charitable organizations do it successfully. To that end, this year’s Vanguard Award goes to United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI).

Solar installations in PhoenixUNFI has decided that it will lead by example in the arena of energy. To this end, they are powered by three colossal solar panel arrays in Rhode Island, California, and Connecticut. UNFI understands that foods created using solar energy power the people in the most natural way possible. They’ve taken the sun’s rays to lighten their carbon footprint and make what they produce healthier.

UNFI has also created innovative programs within its own ranks — for example, employees who qualify are approved for a money-match program toward a hybrid vehicle. In addition, employees are encouraged to volunteer and give to the community, and to actively partake in their own health and well-being.

It takes guts for a company of any size to operate outside of the box, and that’s exactly what Adair Solar wants to help local Arizona residents do. Usually positive changes start at home, and from there blossom into “everyday routines” in the outside world. Teach your children that a solar installation in Phoenix can save the environment, and that a solar hot water heater installation in Arizona can lessen the damage done to the planet on the whole, and you’re giving them something that can’t be taken away: awareness.

Get started on your path to leaving behind smaller footprints. Call Adair Solar Installation Company in Mesa, AZ at (480) 827-1162 for your FREE in-home solar installation consultation.

    Solar energy in Phoenix

Golden rays depicted copper now symbolize solar energy.

Heretofore, Arizona has in years past been known as the Copper State. Copper has been Arizona’s pick of the litter in terms of exports for decades. While it’s been great in keeping the state’s economy on point in many ways, it has also been damaging to the planet as large land masses have been leveled in search of the ore.

But the present — and indeed the future of Arizonan exports is changing. As Jeffrey Luth of the Arizona Business Journal tells us, solar energy can and should be Arizona’s number one export. For the first time in the state’s history, an export that isn’t quite so tangible could make more of a difference in the health of the planet, job growth, and cheaper energy for consumers all over the United States.

With huge expanses across the desert that allow for the installation of colossal solar panel arrays, and with nearly 365 days a year of sunshine, Arizona is the perfect playground for solar energy in Phoenix and beyond. With the enormous energy-producing capabilities of such solar installations in Arizona, the number of homes and businesses it could provide power to are easily in the millions.

We at Adair Solar Company in Arizona urge all Americans to stand firmly behind any initiatives that will put solar energy efforts on the forefront of America’s priorities. It could after all — and ironically — be the barren desert that brings a wealth of resources to us all across the country.

    As Arizonan as Kokopelli

We’ve known for some time that solar energy would be “the new black” for Arizona residents. Still, we never thought it would catch on like the wildfire it has. According to the Renewable Energy Source (of Scotland!) Arizona is on pace to be in more demand of solar energy than anywhere else in the nation.

Now, of course this makes sense — the heat, the cacti… we’re in the Valley of the Sun! Naturally, but given that Arizona has plenty of renewable resources in its backyard doesn’t necessarily make it the most progressive user of such resources. But that is a trend that’s forver changed. Because the cost of intsalling solar panels in Arizona has decreased so greatly in recent years (and prices continue to plummet) solar energy in the area is becoming increasingly attractive even to the most hardcore energy traditionalist.

What’s great about this change in the wind is that the more people and businesses that climb on board, the less solar energy in Arizona will seem like a fad, and more and more it will become a trait like any other Arizonan institution. The Grand Canyon, saguaros and coyotes, Kokopelli, and SOLAR ENERGY!

In addition, the closer solar energy in Phoenix and the surrounding area comes to being as American as apple pie, the lower the costs will continue to fall, and local and federal government will have reason to continue with solar tax rebates and credit programs… because they work!

Are you ready for a free in-home consultation from a Phoenix solar company that wants to make energy in the desert as friendly and efficient as possible? Lower your bills, love the Earth, and get your questions answered by an Adair Solar representative today.

    Bright Tucson Community Solar Program

The University of Arizona has a worldwide reputation for always being on the cutting edge. Its university programs and colleges are known to be among the best of the best. But now U of A has made another huge stride as Arizona’s landmark university.

Its newest initiative, an Arizona solar panel installation right on campus, was just unveiled in January 2011. In an partnership with local utility company Tucson Electric Power, the two entities conceived the Bright Tucson Community Solar Program. This innovative solar energy program will allow Arizonans to make use of the solar energy generated by the array through buying kilowatt hour packages by units as low as 150 kilowatts.

The idea behind this progressive initiative is to make it possible for people who are unable to install solar panels on their homes to still have the option to partake in the advantages of using solar power. For residents of Tucson, this means lowering an entire community’s carbon footprint — and they can do it without having to wait for a Smart Grid, without having to worry if they don’t qualify for solar energy rebates.

We at Adair Solar Company in Arizona make it possible for the majority of our customers to obtain solar tax credits in Arizona and solar energy rebates as well. That said, we applaud University of Arizona for expanding the availability of solar power to Arizonans.

    Arizona Solar Energy

According to IEWY News, Intel has invested in an additional 2.5 billion kilowatt hours worth of renewable energy credits. Slated to have completed the full amount of renewable energy credits before the end of 2011, Intel is making a huge show of faith in solar energy in Arizona with one of its main offices located right here in the Valley of the Sun. Using these credits allows the Intel Corporation to provide 100% clean solar energy to its offices in Arizona, New Mexico, California, and even Israel.

Not only does this make a huge difference in lowering Intel’s carbon footprint, it also incentives other large corporations, small and medium-sized businesses, and everyday American consumers to go the way of solar energy in Arizona and beyond.

As one of the world’s largest technology companies, Intel is also engaging in research and development of smarter ways to create and use energy, making their new level of commitment that much more important and visible. New ideas from Intel for the development of the Smart Grid, “embedded sustainability,” and international investment in green energy send a clear message to the world: Green is not the future and solar energy is not some mythical technology –it’s here today, and it’s here to stay.

Well, this is great news. According to a recent poll regarding solar energy, Pike Research reports that nearly 80 percent of Americans have a good opinion of solar energy and how it will better the future of the American economy and create more sustainable energy sources and usage. The survey conducted by Pike Research asked questions to one thousand American consumers, and also included questions regarding other sources of renewable energy. Questions about wind energy, cap and trade, and environmentally-friendly cars were also on the docket.

    Arizona Solar Energy

The research done by Pike comes right on the heels of President Obama’s State of the Union Address, and right after Jan Brewer’s mention of Arizona solar energy becoming the number one source of solar energy in the nation.

Knowing that four-fifths of all consumers are in favor of solar energy, it bodes well for bipartisan efforts to get solar and other renewable energy bills passed. Congresspersons and senators who wish to keep their constituencies happy will be far more likely to get on board with solar energy initiatives. This will be especially powerful for Arizona solar companies just like Adair Solar — and for the consumers we all serve.

The Pike Research survey shows great promise for the future of all renewable energy approval by Americans. We at Adair Solar company in Arizona hope these approval ratings continue to rise in the coming months and years.
