The question as to how powerful solar panels in Phoenix can be has been long on the minds of residents and consumers in the Valley. While providers of solar water heaters and other solar equipment in Phoenix know, the benefits can be tremendous, especially when considering rebates, tax credits, and so on.
But concrete, exciting new data points to an extremely promising future in solar energy in Phoenix… and far beyond. According to the Michigan Policy Network for Energy and Environment, “Experts say that by 2011 these devices [solar shingles] will be on the market and within the next decade homes could be “net-zero” and completely self-powered. According to Sun Catalytix, these shingles would allow for surplus energy to be stored within “electrolyzers” and saved for later use. When night strikes and the sun ceases to provide energy, the system would switch gears and use broken down hydrogen and oxygen fuel cells to produce power. This would mean electricity would be provided by the shingles 24 hours a day, despite the fact that the sun is not shining.”
The wave of new types of photovoltaic solar panels and other such solar energy gathering devices and equipment is upon us. The dramatic advances will mean more savings to homeowners — so much so that the ultimate in savings by 2021 could be 100 percent. This is a staggering and fantastic potential result. Imagine paying for solar energy equipment in Phoenix one time and never having to pay for electricity again.
While this may seem mythical at the moment, it’s certainly not an impossibility. Nevertheless, at the current moment those who install solar water heaters and other solar equipment in Phoenix can enjoy a dramatic decrease in utility costs — so you don’t have to wait for the “wave of the future” to hit before you can benefit from tremendous savings.

Adair Solar offers a free in-home consultation for consumers considering solar power, solar heating, and solar panel installations in Arizona. It’s a simple, no-hassle visit with an Adair Solar rep who will walk you through the entire process.
The first step is to ask a few questions to determine which kinds of rebates for renewable energy or rebates for solar installations you may be eligible for as a homeowner. There is also a short survey that helps to determine if there are any other credits available to you for the purchase of a solar water heater in Arizona, or other solar energy equipment. Some of the credits and rebates available will pay for the installation itself, while others pay for the equipment. There are other kinds of credits and rebates as well, all of which are geared toward the goal of getting your home equipped with solar panels to reduce utilities cost and lower your carbon foot print.
One of the ways we determine which rebates and credits will best serve you is to ask questions regarding your unique energy needs and how you use energy in your home. This way, our rep can determine how you can save the most money in the short and long run both. In most cases, our Adair Solar reps can illustrate to homeowners just like you how our products can be installed on your home at no additional out-of-pocket cost outside of what you are spending on utilities right now.

Well the plans have been in place for a while now, but the Ikea in Tempe has completed its solar panel installation in Arizona. This is an epic moment for solar energy in Arizona for many reasons, not the least of which is the amount of energy these solar panels will create and how much damage to the environment they will prevent. As some may already know, the Ikea in Tempe, Arizona is the largest of all the company’s locations in the world. As such, it makes sense that it would be the location where the most amount of energy would be required; couple that with the fact that it’s in the sun-drenched state of Arizona and the equation starts to make sense on every single level.
Just to help understand the magnitude that these Arizona solar panels will have, think of this: the Tempe Ikea location is nearly 345,000 square feet in total. By installing these solar panels, which take up 75,000 square feet right up on the roof, the Ikea corporation will lower it’s carbon footprint by more than 750 cubic tons of carbon dioxide every single year!
Any chance an Arizona solar panel installation company has to work with a corporation or local small business should be taken. It saves money, but more than that, it creates a culture of awareness in the Valley, showing that Arizona is in deed on the map when it comes to green thinking.

Well, the people and renewable energy advocates have spoken, and the Obama administration has finally listened. The roof of the White House will soon don both solar panels and a shiny new solar hot water heater.
Although many solar power companies across the nation have scrambled to encourage the powers that be to engage their services for the solar panel and solar hot water heater installation, there has been no mention from any source public or private as to which company will be doing the install.
This is a pivotal point in US history. While Jimmy Carter did install solar panels on the White House during his administration, they were later removed, which sent a message to the world that the US did not support alternative forms of energy. With this new solar panel and solar heater installation, people around the world, including heads of state, will see that a renewed interest in making the leap of faith toward renewable energy is very much present in the US.
According to sources informed about the decision, it has been announced that the solar panel and solar hot water heater installations on the White House will be completed some time before the summer of 2011.
A great success story for solar energy and all forms of renewable energy sources. We’ll be excited to see the unveiling of the project upon completion!

Well, sometimes it’s the least expected places and people that show the most interest in becoming pioneers. In this particular case, the Energy Commission of Ghana has declared this month Solar Month, with a strong focus on raising awareness for the superior quality and quantity of energy that solar power provides while also being an intelligent choice for the environment and the purse strings of the government and the people.
The tagline of the month-long campaign is, “Solar — A Viable Energy Source for Socio-economic Development.” Of the newest establishments in the country to receive and benefit from solar installations will be a Presbyterian center for women, an agricultural processing company, and many residential homes in the same areas of the country. The solar panel connection Ghana’s “grid” has already been established and given the seal of approval by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission.
But don’t think this is the end of the endeavor — both the public and private sectors of Ghana will be ramping up the solar panel installation effort. More steps toward funneling more solar energy into homes, businesses, and indeed, the economy are on the docket for 2011 and the years to come. While solar energy sources are in higher supply in the northern part of the country, plans to continue overall development are underway for all. The financial advantages for all will be a welcome addition to the country’s overall wealth production.

We’ve had some unseasonable weather here in Arizona the past couple of days. But when hail started pounding down on Scottsdale and Phoenix this afternoon, many would wonder whether we had entered an alternate universe. But don’t let doom and gloom weather fool you — Arizona is still A#1 for the use of solar power for homes.
When it comes to a common sense approach to providing energy to your home in Arizona, there’s no more obvious choice in renewable energy sources than solar power. Rain may come and go from time to time, and the Phoenix Metro Area of the Grand Canyon state may even have the occasional “alternate universe” hail or snow. But on the whole, sunshine is the dominating force in the desert metropolis.
And while some may be flabbergasted to hear it, yes, there is a need for heating in the winter in Arizona. And what better way to warm the home than a solar heater in Phoenix? As the winter months approach, it is important to remember that the days may get crispy cool, but even then there’s a great deal of sunshine, certainly enough to provide photovoltaic solar panels in Scottsdale with enough juice to keep it cozy indoors.
So don’t be put off by hail and other weather-related mysteries — solar power will undoubtedly always be a primary source of energy here in Arizona.

According to a recent Newswire.com article, funding for solar paint will make it possible for researchers to create solar paint that will reduce the need for “on the grid” electricity. The Newswire release states the paint will be “a printable light-sensitive ink that can convert sunlight into energy, potentially opening the door to inexpensive, mass produced solar panels.”So not only will this product create a way for paint to gather and store energy, it will also mean that the paint itself can be used as the coating on newer, cheaper solar panels which will make solar energy much more accessible to every class rather than just to those who can afford it or those who live in areas where there are rebates and other incentives.
The project, named Solar Cells for Life, is on track to have a prototype within the next five years according to its managers and financial backers. This is great news for solar energy companies and developers who will be able to lower the cost of their products and services when the solar panel comes onto the scene. They will be able to cater to many more consumers, making it an attractive option to sell more solar energy and do more solar panel installations on homes that before would have been excluded.
